Donate For Children (DFC) Sponsors MCTV Drawings Contest for Milpitas Schools Students.
DFC took a major role in the 5th Year Anniversary of MCTV by sponsoring the Drawings Contest for Milpitas Schools Students. The contest was divided in two levels: Elementary and Junior High. There were more than 4,000 flyers distributed to Milpitas School District. The judging committee was quite surprised and overwhelming with many beautiful drawings submitted by the students. Six winners were selected to recieve awards presented by DFC Senior Vice President Marsha Tran during the ceremony with the attendance of Mayor Jose Esteves, City Council Members Althea Polanski and Debbie Giordano, Police Chief Dennis Graham, Fire Chief Brian Sturdivant, MCTV Chairman Dinesh Gupta, MCTV President/CEO Hai Tran, and many members of the local business and community.

Milpitas Commissioners' Recognition Event
The Milpitas City Council recently conducted the "Commissioners' Recognition Event" for the City Commissioners in appreciation of their service and dedication to the residents of the City of Milpitas.
Both Mr. Hai Tran and Mrs. Marsha Tran, Donate For Children's executive members, were among the commissioners being recognized. Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Tran for their continuous contributions to the local community!

Donate For Children’s President Hai Tran and Senior V.P. Marsha Tran, in addition to their contribution in charitable activities noticeably in Donate For Children, have also actively involved in local volunteer work and community service. President Hai Tran currently serves as Vice Chair for the Telecommunications Commission which advises the City Council on matters of telecommunications policy, legislation, and implementation at the local, state, and federal levels. Likewise, Senior V.P. Marsha Tran has been serving in the Sister Cities Commission which was formed as an advisory body to the City Council on matters affecting sister cities relationships, programs, and activities.
Donate For Children & Milpitas Community Television (MCTV)
Donate For Children proudly sponsors a number of Cultural Programs that are broadcast on Milpitas Community Television throught Comcast Channel 26. Under the direction of DFC President Hai Tran who also serves as President / CEO of MCTV, DFC members and volunteers have spent a considerable amount of time to support those programs including the Vietamese Cultural Programming, SKVC Performing Arts Group, the Vietnamese Lion Club, and the Youth Club. These programs are aired on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday nights of the week between 8:30pm-9:00pm.
About The City of Milpitas
Located at the southern tip of the San Francisco Bay, the City of Milpitas is a progressive community that is an integral part of the high tech Silicon Valley. With a very diversified resident population of 65,000, Milpitas features quality schools, conveniently located neighborhood parks and shopping centers.

Milpitas is often called the “Crossroads of Silicon Valley” with most of its 13.63 square miles of land situated between two major freeways (I-880 and I-680), State Route 237, and a County expressway. A new light rail line opened for service in 2004 and an extension of BART including a major multi-modal station is in the planning stage. There are approximately 1,790 acres, or 2.9 square miles, designated for various industrial uses. About 271 acres are vacant and available in parcels ranging from ½ acre to 75 acres. There are eight existing industrial parks and 550 manufacturing plants in Milpitas.
An additional 350 acres are dedicated to regional and community retail centers supporting 3.5 million square feet of commercial shops. The Great Mall of the Bay Area is the largest enclosed mall in Northern California, with approximately 1.1 million square feet of leasable space for retail and entertainment operations. Several local shopping centers serve regional needs for Asian-oriented retail and services.
The two largest employers in Milpitas are Cisco Systems and Lifescan, Inc., with over 2,500 employees each. Other major employers are Solectron Corporation; LSI Logic Corporation; Linear Technology; KLA-Tencor Corporation; Maxtor Corporation; Xicor, Inc.; Seagate Technology, and the newly relocated SanDisk. Several of these top employers have made the City of Milpitas their corporate headquarters as well. Given the City’s desirable location for high-tech industry, the daytime population of Milpitas doubles to 130,000.
Milpitas is rich in diversity. In 2015, Asians constituted 52% of the population with Filipino the largest Asian group at 15%. Caucasians were 24%; Hispanic 17% and African-American were 3%.
